THE GOLDEN SYMBOL OF DANCE❤️💃✨

 There are many dancers who have countributed to the development of the art of dance.dan Among those dancers, S. Panibharatha holds a prominent position. Panibharatha was a great dancer, chreographer, and teacher. 

         He was born on 24th February, 1920. His original name was Panis. From a young age, he showed a deep interest in dancing and music. He began to learn ubout dance from his uncle. His uncle was a talanted dancer and his name was Algama Kiriganithaya. 

    He was highly skilled in all three major Sri Lankan dance traditions. ( Kandyan, Low country, Sabaragamu ). Not only he was skilled in indigenous dance but also talented in Indian dance. He received a scholarship and got tha opportunity to go to Shanthinikethana in India to study. There he not only learned Indian dance but also studied Indian musical instruments. 

  He produced many ballet productions, and some of them are,

  • Graha Apalaya
  • Ditta Mangalika
  • Bathe upatha
  • Gammane Mal Pipila
 As a mark of respect to him, his birthday was declared National Dance Day.
